Packing the Truck

We have been home a week and have stuff scattered all throughout the house that needs to be repacked in the truck.   As the time to go back in service starts to creep back on us I start making piles to be carried out to the truck.   This time of year I also enjoy decorating the truck for Christmas so that is a few extra items.   We set a time when we are available for a load offer and by that time we have everything in the truck but a few items such as my computer.   We keep nothing in the house that we cannot grab quickly and hit the road within ten minutes of the call and excepting a load.  Some people have commented that they could not stand not knowing where and which direction they would be going but our way of thinking if it pays enough who cares which direction it is going.   We are truck drivers and even though we have our favorite parts of the country to drive in where the load goes really does not matter.   One of the hardest loads we can take after being home a bit is a really long run as I need to go to bed earlier then I have been and Bob has to stay up later then he has.   After the first load though we are back in our normal truck sleep patterns and all is good. It is always sad to leave the house but we are always happy to get back in our truck and head out.   We will only be out about three weeks before we come back home for Christmas which to us is very difficult as we are used to staying out longer.   Seems like we just leave and it is time to come back.
