Last night after we delivered we stopped at a Pilot for the evening and as I was parking there sat Dick McCorkle another Slice of Trucker Life driver we had been hoping to meet.   http://sliceoftruckerlife.com/blogs/dick-mccorkle/ We spent several hours together and really enjoyed his company. We also called a trucking friend of ours who lives in Virginia Beach to see if he would be home for the weekend and he was on his way there.  He is going to let us get our laundry done at his house and I am sure we will go find something fun to do in the area.   We have ran into him in Florida, California and Texas but this is the first time he has been home when we are near.   We spent last weekend in Little Rock and had supper with a good friend that we met through our daughter in the military.   The week before we met our friend Henry Albert, Slice of Trucker Life Driver in Larado TX and we were able to spend some quality time with him before we had to both go our separate ways with loads. Before Thanksgiving we had been out in California and a driving couple we know were at home in the Indio area and while we were waiting to pick up a load they came and picked us up and we went out for a great Mexican food dinner.   We headed for Arizona after that and delivered near Sierra Vista and had a pre assignment which left us time over the weekend to visit my high school best friend and spend the weekend with her and her family.   Whenever we drive though Las Vegas we stop and for at least a minute to say Hi to our daughter who is stationed at Nellis Air Force Base.   As time goes on our network of friends is expanding and the whole United States is becoming our local neighborhood.   We never know who we are going to see are when we will see them which just seems to make the chance visits that more enjoyable.
