We are into our second winter using our Onspot automatic chains and yes they have all ready been used for several miles. We expect when we see the chains required sign to deploy the auto chains, but not usual to use them in a customers parking lot.
The unexpected bonus of having automatic chains is when we get to the customer and cannot make it into their parking lot due to ice, we flip a switch, deploy our chains and forward we go. The feeling of security when driving on a customer or a truck stops solid sheet of ice with the chains deployed is unexplainable.
Before our chains we would creep around the parking lot, hold our breaths, clutch the armrest, and will the truck to not slip or slide. This was especially dicey when trying to back into a space. Now we hold our breaths hoping the trucks around the truck do not slide into us.
The Trucking Solutions Group will be having an open call on Wednesday January 16th with Pat Freyer President Onspot Automatic Chains, to discuss the performance of chains. Pat attends many of the truck shows and is always available for questions.
One of the reasons we picked Onspot automatic chains is their outstanding customer service. Years ago we tried to get auto chains for our M2 with wide base singles. We sent in the required drawing and measurements of our tires and brake chambers and then received a call back asking for pictures. Next we received a call asking if we would be attending MATS as Onspot would like an engineer to look at our truck. Danny Graham, the salesmen, and an engineer went out to the parking lot to get measurements, take picture and see if there was any way to get the chains to work. Sadly to say for us they could not figure out a way to make them work efficiently and they would not sell us chains. That was impressive.
Next Onspot finds out that we have a new truck and they contact us to see if we would let them try again! Talk about customer service. The engineers looked at our truck and shook their heads once again. Talk about disappointing for us. Well they did not give up and before long we had our long awaited call! Come get the chains we have them working.
