Oh No! This is not good…
On our way to pick up our load, it rained cats and dogs, a real gully washer, and as I pulled into the customer's property, I drove around several huge puddles. Bob went in to speak with the customer as I backed into the dock, and it started pouring down rain once again with lots of impressive thunder.
We were picking up what I think is the heaviest load we have hauled in a straight truck of 14,000 pounds of printed material that had five drops.
As the customer walked into the freight box, he exclaimed: “Oh No, you have such a nice truck, it is a shame that your box leaks.” Bob had a confused look on his face, and then the customer pointed at the floor of the box. Now it was Bob’s turn to confuse the customer as he smiled and said that the floor is not wet. The customer did not believe him and reached down to feel the surface. To say the least, he was pretty impressed and had no problem loading his freight onto our truck.
Bob spent a lot of time sealing the floor of the freight box before we hauled our first load.
