My turn to drive...

Bob usually wakes me up about a half hour before I start driving so I can prepare.   Yes it takes me that long to gather all of my necessary items so that there will be no need to bother Bob or stop to often once my shift starts.  Each time that the truck stops Bob might not wake up totally but it does interrupt his sleep.   So unnecessary stops are avoided.

First I make two cups off coffee and fill my Contigo coffee mug and then I make one hot tea and fill my other Contigo mug.   I will also gather up at least two water bottles.   Next I get my pumpkin seeds and also gather up a Baggies full of chopped vegetables.   Sometimes I use a lunch box that has an ice pack in it and other times I do not worry about it.

If I am hungry I will go ahead and fix something to eat and if not I will grab something I can easily eat with my fingers.   Lately I have been trying to make a form of crepes with my rice cooker and eggbeaters.   First I heat up onions or chopped bell peppers and then I add a piece of cooked bacon and pour about three tablespoons of eggbeaters over my ingredients.    My first tries came out like scrambled eggs but slowly I am getting better and they are coming out rolled.

Once Bob is done driving and it is my turn to move into the drivers seat I place my drinks in the two-cup holders.   I place my extra drinks on the floor next to the drivers seat and I place the trashcan close by.   While I am getting settled in Bob walks around the truck for his post trip.

Next the mirrors and seat are adjusted, seat belt put on and then steering wheel height adjusted and I am about ready to go.   I always check to make sure I have gum in the cubby hole and also that my headset is at the ready and that my phone is locked into its holder.   I check to see if my sun visor is hanging off of the arm of the chair so that when the sun rises I can use the visor as I cannot reach the passenger side truck visor.

Now with all of that checked I turn the key to on and I am ready for my day to begin!
