Merry Christmas
After being on the road for several months we are glad to finally be home. We decided this year to stay out longer so we could stay home longer which worked out well.
The problem with staying out for months at a time is the mail stacks up unmercifully and it took a long time to go through the mail and sort it. We are very lucky our daughter picks up our mail and stacks it. We also use the informed delivery from the USPS that sends an email to me each day with a photo of the front of the envelopes so I know what is being delivered. Once the mail is gone through and put away I am ready to tackle the next project which is unloading the truck and getting all of our bedding washed and put back. We clean out the refrigerator and bring in most of our clothes that are in baskets. The washer is started and kept running till everything is washed and back in the truck.
The truck has preventive maintenance appointments as well and off it will go to the shop and then we will take it to the next shop until the truck is ready to come home. Bob always has a list of things he wants to do to the truck that he will start on once the truck is done at the other shops. We are also in the process of getting the truck ready to sell so we have that in mind as well as we want everything gone through and made sure it will be ready for a new owner.
Bob has spent this year making a meat smoker and once he has a full day at home he is going to try it out. One of our friends made a meat smoker and he was a great help at guiding Bob in the right direction to learn more. Once we priced a smoker online we were even more excited about making our smoker out of a barrel. I will have to let you know how this works out.
Both of our pets were thrilled to see the house and after months on the road. Once inside they had to really check out each room. I think they also consider the house to be a vacation place. Squeaky never gets out of the truck once we leave and throws a fit if we try to take him out until he sees his house and then we have to watch as when the door opens he jumps. Texas gets out of the truck and gets her huge ball on a rope and immediately wants to run like crazy. Funny how they are so excited to get home and they are just as excited to get back in the truck. Neither one of them wants us to leave them home.
We will be home for a month and I know that time will fly by! Merry Christmas to all of you and safe travels.
