I get TO!

I used to look at daily projects with an I have to attitude and as I have aged and I think maybe became a little wiser I have slowly changed my thinking.   I look back over what all Bob and I have been able to accomplish in our lives and I think how darn lucky are we!   We started our married life eating on a used TV tray for a kitchen table and I had two electric skillets that were given to us as wedding presents.   I learned to cook about anything in those skillets as it was about six months before we were able to purchase a stove.   We have come a long way since then and now I spend a lot of my time cooking in a Rice Cooker here in the truck!   In reality though I look back over the years at the fun we had raising our girls and the fun we are having now and I find the words “We get to” pretty easy to use.   This year I made a commitment to myself to become healthier and to exercise.   I started out the year struggling to walk a mile and today I was able to run/walk ten miles and if time had permitted I would have kept going!   When I see a hill, stairs, or even feel the wind I think wow I get to climb or I have the wind as resistance to strengthen my body.   We “Get To” see the seasons change in our truck, We “Get To” see the most beautiful areas of the country we live in, We “Get To” own our own business with the best view of any office job, and we “Get To” make a good living.   Once I start looking at all the “Get To” things we are able to do it is pretty hard to let yourself get into a funk…   So here is looking at our next “Get To” event!
