Hurtling through space

I started out in a light mist going west on a very dark night with my windshield wipers in slow motion.   The lanes are not well marked and I90 has many curves in the road as you slowly climb the mountain towards the Snoqualmie Pass.   As I started up towards the pass the rain got heavier and the visibility decreased which made the lanes even harder to see.   There was not much traffic that time of the morning which gave me the eerie feeling that I was hurtling through space.   I felt as if I was in a video game watching my lanes and they twisted and turned with me staying centered.   As I got closer to the pass on the mountain where you often have to chain up the road gets pretty rough and the heavy rain turned to a very wet snow.   I could see the ski area lights off to my left and I wondered how much snow they could have on the ski runs due to warm weather and wet snow.   As I started down the mountain I ran out of the wet snow and as I went further down the mountain the rain became less and less.   I finally left the mountain and my space adventure and was back in civilization.   Those kinds of drives at night are really a lot of fun unless I am in heavy traffic and none of us can see!
