Brandy_Bob_Mount_Charlston_Trail.JPGWe delivered over in California and were only a couple hours away from our daughter who is stationed at Nellis Air Force Base.  We decided to take the time to go visit her for the weekend and site see the area.

She took us hiking in the Spring Mountains near the Mount Charleston Area.

We went on the Bristlecone Trail which starts out at 8000’ and the trail goes up another 1000’ ft and I am still here to tell you that there is not much air up there!  We felt as if we basically went almost straight up and then came straight down.

1500_Bristle_Pine_tree_Bob_Linda.JPGIt was amazing as the weather was so hot in the Las Vegas valley and the weather was very cool not an hour’s drive from the base.  The trail was really in awesome shape with a lot of switchbacks to keep you from feeling as if you were going straight up.  We walked a little over 5 miles and really saw some wonderful scenery.  Hiking reminds us again of how we need to keep getting out of the truck and exercising.
