Welcome to My Life in the Fast Lane

He was a hard-headed man
He was brutally handsome, and she was terminally pretty
She held him up, and he held her for ransom in the heart of the cold, cold city.
He had a nasty reputation as a cruel dude.
They said he was ruthless, they said he was crude.
They had one thing in common, they were good in bed.
She'd say, 'Faster, faster.  The lights are turnin' red.'
Life in the fast lane!

How's that for a little driving music for you?  A little Eagles to get your blood pumping and the wheels rolling, cause it's just that kind of day.

Well, hello everyone and welcome to my little corner of the blogging world here on ExpeditersOnline.com.  For those of you who don't know me, I am Sierra Sugar, and that is the extent of your forewarning.  But seriously, and sometimes not so seriously, here you will find stories of a different nature.  Have you ever been rock climbing?  Seen the whites of a doe's eye staring at you over the hood of your big truck? How about being on the losing end of a water fight with a ghost in an empty rest area bathroom? The tech and specs have been delivered to the experts for their blogs.  This blog is about life out on the road, everything that passes by the windows at highway speeds. Its the things we see every day.  The things we do in our daily lives out on the road.  How we accommodate to tiny living, and fast living.

Trucking in general is a game of hurry up and wait, then hurry up and get there.  Expediting, I guess you could say is the expert level of that game.  As everyone in the business well knows, you can sit for longer periods of time, but when the freight comes, you have to go, and go now!  From semi tractor trailers, to straight trucks, down to the itty bitty sprinter vans, freight keeps us rolling across the country through all hours of the day and night.  As the passenger, and fiance' of an Owner Operator who has been in this industry and trucking lifestyle for over 20 years, I've learned that stopping, or even slowing down at times can cause you to be late to a shipper or consignee. And oh my goodness you'd think the world was coming to an end if he even thinks there is the slightest chance that was going to happen!

So, this is me, and this is us.  And lucky you, getting to see this life through my eyes.  A trucking life out on the road.  The freight, the stops, the adventures, the learning, the fun, the frustrations, the bumps, and hills, and everything else that goes along with Life in the Fast Lane.
