Fuel for Thought
Two months to go!
Expedite Expo 2011 is less than two months away. We have been off for the last two days doing so much stuff preparing ourselves for the Expedite Expo, which seems like it is just around the corner.
Last night, Nick spent over three hours washing, clay barring, and waxing the van in preparation of getting our big decals put on today. Jason at Lakeshore Utility Graphics/Trailer was absolutely great to work with. The new decal lay out no longer had the blue stripe incorporated into it, but we had decided that we still would like to add just a solid blue stripe to the bottom of the van. He had no problems doing this for us, and it didn’t cost very much at all.
If you don’t know about the Expedite Expo, or have never been, you really have no idea what you are missing. It is a great time. You get to meet a larger portion of carriers, and many truck suppliers, and suppliers of great accessories for you truck or van. Many of which, we ourselves, have bought items from.
There are many workshops and seminars that you can attend as well. One of my favorites is the Drivers networking and round table discussion, which will be held Saturday at 11 am. At 2 p.m. Nick and I will be hosting our workshop on expediting in a van. We will also have some other experienced drivers in there with us, for advice, input, and knowledge.

On top of all of the knowledge you can gain, you get the chance to meet many of your fellow drivers, and have a great time. There seems to be many more faces you recognize every year. Thanks to the expo, we have made many friends that we still talk to. It may be the only time you get to see them but we all have a great time. One of the things that I will never forget, is the big bbq after the expo “officially†ends, but we party in the parking lot until after dark. There is plenty of good food and conversations. I will be debuting a new “secret†recipe. Sorry to disappoint, but no mac and cheese this year.
