Tucson revisited
Two years ago we were in Tucson, and spent a lot of time walking around the "artsy" district and little shops on 6th street. We found Brooklyn Pizza last time we were there, in which the food is cooked with solar power according to them. The amount of garlic on their food will garauntee that you will never be visited by vampires but is very good.
One of the other stops was a small clothing store called Kamillas. We found it the last time that we were there, and that is where I bought the dress that I had worn for our engagement photos. It is still one of my all time favorite dresses. I took in one of our photos for the owners to hang on their wall, and she was completely ecstatic. She remembered us, and exactly what we had purchased. She had also thrown in the necklace that I was wearing as a free engagement gift. Its sad to see that after being there for over 10 years that they are closing.

On the downside of our trip, the economy has taken a definate toll on Tucson. Most of the smaller shops are not there anymore. The "hipster" society has taken over. In 3 blocks I counted over 5 tattoo parlors. I have nothing against them, as I have many myself. There are many headshops, and even one in which you can custom design "glass pieces". As we drove through town we saw the occupiers as well. It is sad to see how such a beautiful district has gone downhill.
We did pick up a few nice Christmas decorations, and some art to display at home. Nick also picked out a ring for me for my birthday next week :)
We probably wont be going back there for a while, maybe by the next time it will have changed for the better.
