Thanksgiving on the road
Our first year our here together was 2008. Nick was still running solo, and I was tagging along for the ride. We found ourselves in North Carolina for Thanksgiving weekend. We didn't really mind it as it gave us a chance to extablish our own little tradition. We got a hotel room on Wednesday night, and planned on being there until Monday. We went ahead and made plans that we would go ahead and go to CrackerBarrel for dinner Thursday, since they were offering a decent meal and a great price. Then I started planning for Black Friday. That in itself is a WHOLE other story, that Nick should tell ;) After we were done shopping Friday we wandered around to some of the race shops around the area to take pictures for a Christmas gift that I was making.
Thanksgiving 2009 was spent in Laredo, TX. There are no Cracker Barrels there, so we didn't get to continue with our tradition, but we did get to have dinner with family. My mom and dad were on a load that delivered down there, and we had dinner together at the Flying J. Not luxurious by any means, but at least we were with family.
Thanksgiving 2010 was actually spent at home. We had a load that picked up the day after heading towards Colorado, so we went up north to my grandparents house, and had a nice meal with my mom, dad, grandparents, and uncle.
As for this year who knows where we will be, but where ever we are, we are home as long as we are together.
