Fuel for Thought

Summer's here!

          Man, what a difference a few weeks makes huh? Seems like just a week or two ago I was complaining about the cold LOL.  Hated to idle to keep warm... then, it was SO nice to have those good, mid-level temps where I could sleep good in the van with just a window cracked and a fan on.

         Well, today was smokin!  I picked up a run in Northern Ohio Friday that delivered in Georgia today.  I gladly took it, because that left me going right by my house to be home for the weekend.  After some family time, church, etc... I left Sunday night to deliver the run this morning.  Smooth run, about 1000 lbs which made the van ride well, light traffic overnight, etc.  Delivered early, headed to the Flying J to sleep, cracked the window, hit the fans, and crashed out. Well, a few hours later, I woke up to a SAUNA.. I was soaked, and felt like I was breathing water LOL. WOW.... I thought I was in a good shady spot, but even with my window shades, and the van decently insulated... it turned into an oven!

         So, I broke my rule about staying in the van to save money LOL.. I rarely do this, but I grabbed the GPS, and hit the list of close-by motels!  I hate to spend the money, but to me the shower, and COLD air conditioning were worth it today!  Got my rest now, and it sure would be nice to get something that delivers so I can driver during the heat and sleep at night.. but ya know, ya never can predict.  It's gonna be a short week out for me.. I have to be home Wednesday night, because my daughter is leaving for her missions trip on Thurs morn... so ya know, gotta see her off, etc. :-)
