Fuel for Thought

Still..going thru changes!

To quote a song from a few years back... "I'm going thru changes..."... LOL... wow.. what a few weeks.  I haven't had much to write about on here that was driving related, but man changes have happened at home...both good and bad.   Ya just gotta deal with it, and try to keep your head in the game..

 

I seem to have gotten in a groove of short runs, and dry runs... 8 of my last 36 runs dispatched were cancelled for one reason or another... it get's very frustrating.  Some were plain customer called back and cancelled.. others were customer gave wrong dimensions, one.. one customer even gave my freight by mistake to another driver, and by the time they realized it, and got in touch with him, he was 4 hours up the road towards Wisconsin .. instead of New York , where the freight was supposed to go! So, it was better just to turn him towards NY than have him bring it clear back to KY.  I understand the 'why'... just doesn't make it easier on the paycheck!

As I said tho, not too many long runs lately, lot of short ones.. few transfers etc... it's always nice to meet someone who reads my ramblings, and the other night I did a transfer with Jim who posts here as jj214... nice to meet you Jim! 

 

 

Monday morn I did have a good paying run where I didn't haul a thing! Just drove to a location to meet a White Glove team, to help unload some electronics.  I get those now and then. I usually don't have to unload freight, but when I'm called in on these, they pay well, so I grab 'em!
