Sitting In Laredo

It isn’t going to be often that Laredo is the place to be in the summer. Looks like I’ve had some of the best weather compared to the rest of the country. It hasn’t hit 100 this week. Mostly it’s been in the low 90’s or less.

The new air conditioner arrangement is pretty much a dud. I’ve been able to get three hours out of it which was in line with my original plans (enough for an expediters nap). There is only so much power that can be stored in a couple batteries and skimmed off a couple solar panels. The weak part of the system now is the extraction of the hot air. The ducting in the door allows too much heat to linger in the door panel which turns the door into a large radiator panel sending heat back into the living area. So I’ll be working on a better sealed, more direct exit for the hot air coming off the condensor. Until then I’ve been using a portable 12 volt fan from the people who make the Fan-Tastic Vent. The Endless Breeze uses the same type of super efficient motor used in their vents. Between a good blast from the fan and a well ventilated bunk, I really don’t need the air conditioner.
