Fuel for Thought
Sitting
Things were a little slower than we had hoped, coming back from our vacation. We had sat until Wednesday morning in Jacksonville, hoping to pull a load out of Florida. We ended up moving up to Charleston, SC early yesterday morning. We ended up getting loaded out this afternoon. That left us a lot of time sitting and waiting.
I find when we are waiting I start going stir crazy, and getting a bit ancy. Everyone tells me to "read a book" or "go do something", but it isn't always that easy. To honest, books bore me to death. I have a hard time finding ones that intrest me. To me they are all the same.
I have the same problem watching movies. You have the good guys, who kill the bad guys, he gets the girl and away they go. You have romantic comedies, where the guys or girl is with the wrong person, and finally gets the right one and away they go. We do watch a lot of movies though. I think we have watched 10 since Monday.
We do go and do "stuff" as well. We have actually seen a lot of cool things, such as the Whitehouse, the Liberty Bell, we have taken a sunset horse carriage ride around St. Augustine, went to Niagara Falls, many of the race shops in North Carolina, and walked many forts. Sometimes I have a hard time justifying going and touring places, when we have to go far distances from the van, in an area that we are unfamiliar with, or paying for something, and having to leave because dispatch calls, or running the risk of ending up inside of somewhere with out a cell phone signal.
We also play a lot of games online, frequent web forums, and Nick plays his PSP. We do like to get out and do things, I hate being stuck in the van. I draw pictures of random things, but have the art skills of a third grader, so don't look for it in an art museum anytime soon. I like to write. I have written Nick many books of poems. Maybe when I get enough guts to, I will post one on here.
