Setting Goals

One of the things that we are taught early in life is setting goals. Whether its while learning numbers, and trying to reach the goal of counting to 100, or if it getting good grades in school. As we grow older our goals change. Nick and I have had specific goals since we got together. We have made 5 and 10 year plans, that we have numerously changed.

A few years ago we were looking at moving to Florida, until we realisticly sat down and looked at the cost of it and that it was in turn an unrealistic goal for the lifestyle that we would like to have. We have had the goal to save money and buy a house cash. We planned on doing it this year or early next. Unfortunately that is one of the goals that we have not met. We had many other personal things that have come up in the last two years that have required a significant chunk of the money that we were saving. I know though, that in the next 3 years that goal will become a reality.

We had a goal of paying off our van early. With hard work, determination, and sacrifices, we were able to do so. We met a personal goal this year that we have had for the last 3, and it felt amazing doing so. It's not just work achievements either. Nick said that he was going to stop drinking pop again, and as of today its been about 3 weeks since the last time that he has had any.

We set out in our journeys to look for things that we can do better, and that's all that we  can do. Set your goals high and work hard, and you will reach them.
