A few weeks ago we recieved invites to a benefit for the widow, and son, of a member of the car club that Nick used to belong to. The event was taking place in Spencer, MA. We had tossed around the idea of if we got a load to the east coast that we would go ahead and go to it.

Thursday, while we were driving to Taylor, from TX, I was able to convince him to go. Friday we had a lot of things to do, and we were planning on taking the weekend off anyway, so why not do it there. We did all of our running around, and after getting our new tires Friday night we took off for MA.

We arrived, at many peoples surprise, at 11 a.m. The party started about 2 and the more people who showed up were surprised to see him there, and were able to meet me. He had not been active in the club since he had come out on the road, being that we were never around for events. We had a great bbq, lots of entertaining stories, and I got to hear all about the crazy things that they had done. Some of the things you hear, you sit back and wonder how they didn't wind up in trouble.  It was a great time.

Yes, it was 600 miles, but to see the look on his face talking to these guys about cars, I wouldnt have traded it for anything.
