Driving by the malls and stores, looking at their parking lots, I was thankful that we were done with our shopping a while ago. We have a Christmas club with our credit union that we put money in everytime we get paid, so we make sure we have enough when it comes to Christmas shopping. The nice thing about ours is that we can transfer money from it to our checking account at any time of the year. This way I can shop all through the year and have the money whenever I want it and not have to wait until the payout date that most of them them.

This year a majority of our shopping was done online. The "Cyber Monday" deals that I was able to find were out of this world. I ended up saving over 2/3 of what I spent. I couldn't believe some of the deals myself. Examle, a $389 California king 4 inch memory foam topper I got for $122 shipped home! Granted its not that easy for everyone to have stuff shipped home while they are on the road, but we have the luxury of having a place where someone is always home. On top of all of the online shopping, the shopping that we did in stores was done over the summer. We found unique souvenirs for most of the family, that way they can have a memory of us with it. We did finishing buying a few smaller things in the last few weeks, but nothing that we had to stress over. We did do the whole "black Friday" thing a few years ago, and well, we will never be doing that again. Nick can tell you that entertaining story sometime. One main reason we won't do it again is because of  how crazy people have become, just to save some money.

Needless to say, I am more than happy sitting at home on the couch right now, while others are out finishing their shopping.
