Old Dog; New Trick

I didn’t like when laundromats started using store dedicated cash cards to operate the machines. I’m rarely returning to a laundromat and don’t want a collection of cards with my money locked away in some other’s bank accounts. Typically, if it is card operated, I leave. This weekend I found a really nice facility near Rochester, New York. It was so nice I decided this was where I wanted to wash my clothes, so I investigated my options more closely. Unlike my early encounters, this place allowed a small increment of only one dollar to get a card. I calculated to the nearest dollar that would allow me to run the card down to a zero balance with one wash and dry cycle. Perfect arrangement. I ended up spending fifty cents less than usual, and my clothes ended clean and not smelling of other people’s laundry.
