Nassau

I had packed all of our stuff the night before we hit Nassau. I made a beach bag that had our snorkeling gear, and beach towels in it, since we were going snorkeling in the afternoon. We finally got off the ship around 9 am, which gave us 3 hours until we had to go back to the ship drop off anything that we decided to buy and to grab our snorkeling gear.

I was not impressed with Nassau at all. Once they dumped you out of the gates into the city it was a mess. I thought that it smelled, it was dirty, lots of people trying to get your money in everyway possible. We didnt really have a lot of specific shopping to do, no fancy jewelry like a lot of the people so we wandered. We found the Harley shop to pick up a few shirts, and a liquor store to bring back our friends some rum. We did make a quick stop in the straw market, but I really don't like pushy people so we didnt even make it through an aisle of it before we were done.

We headed back to the ship to drop off our few things and grab the snorkeling gear to finally have some fun! We were led to a catamaran that was quite large.IMG_0072.JPG There were probably about 25-30 of us on this trip. They loaded us up and headed out towards a small reef, which took about 45 minutes or so to reach. Once there everyone got their gear on, I was thankful we spent the money on our own because I am weird about putting stuff in my mouth that was in someone elses. Thats just gross to me. Then it was into the water. It was a bit cold at first and kind of took your breath away, but it was warmer than the springs we visit every year so it only took seconds to adjust. Then I was swimming like a fish.

The reef wasnt what I expected but it was still pretty and something that I will always remember. After about 45 minutes it was time to head back to the ship to relax and prepare for paradise the next day.
