Medical Emergencies

Most people who have followed Nick and I for the last few years know that we have had some medical emergencies while we have been out here on the road. Whether it has been Nick having his gallbladder removed in PA, his appendix in NC, or my gallbladder in NY. We were as prepared for these emergencies as one could be.

By being prepared I mean that we have a list of things incase there is an emergency. With us being together it makes these things easier, but for a solo, it is much more important to have these things accessable by a friend or family member. The first thing that we have is a list of emergency contacts. Who needs to be notified. We have our carrier, obviously, since we will need to be placed out of service, our parents, and a few of our driver friends that are our extended family. Secondly we have our allergies to medications. Nick has a list for mine, and I know his. In the incident that neither he or I we accessable to tell someone, in both of our phones we have an ICE contact or in case of emergency. The number is for my parents. They also have a list of allergies, and who needs to be contacted for us. Also on the list is our P.A. at home who knows that we are on the road. In addition to that we have an "emergency" fund. It is for medications, or hotel rooms related to an emergency or illness.

Everyone thinks "Oh it won't happen to me" but one day it may, and its better to be prepared!
