Fuel for Thought
Live from Louisville!
We arrived late Monday evening to the Papa Johns parking lot. Tuesday I was off to do my girl thing, getting my hair and nails done. In the mean time Nick finished up some details on the van before it was headed inside. While he was outside working on the van he received critisism from a lot of tractor drivers. One of them asked him "Why are you polishing your van, you know this is a truck show right?" He was a little aggrivated with the man, but explained to him that our van was going to be in the company booth as their back drop.
Move in began Wednesday morning. It took us a long time to set up, as we were on a corner along the main aisle in the west pavilion and trucks were having to use part of our area to properly back into their positions. Once the carpet was down, and the van in place, we put on the finishing touches. The wheels were shined and the glass cleaned. We were ready for the show to begin.
Thursday morning began with the VIP and exhibitors entering and visiting each others booths. This year has seemed like a lot of companies are in positive spirits, vs some of the past few years where it seemed like everyone was so down and in negative spirits. It is nice to see such a large group of people come together and be more than civil with each other. We have had many people come talk to us from other companies inside and outside of the show.
Today it seemed like there were more people than I had ever seen there in the past few years that we have attended. At one point the line of people registering wrapped down and aisle and a half. A lot of people have come out to see the newest, and some of the greatest products that are out on the market now. While some of the others, you look at them and ask yourself "what in the heck?"
Tomorrow is the last day, and then it is time to pack up and head to the Papa Johns lot for the evening festivities. We are looking forward to a day of resting on Sunday, while taking our time driving back to Taylor to unload the display, do laundry, and head back to work. Hopefully I will have some photos to share in one of my next few blogs!
