Learning to sleep anywhere

For me, sleeping is no problem. I can pretty much sleep anywhere, anytime, and could spend hours in bed with no problem. I am guessing that it came from when I was a child. I could sleep anywhere.

When I came out here with Nick, he was the one who had to get used to sleeping while the vehicle was moving. He had a much harder time with this since he had run solo for a year and a half before he met me. The van was always stopped while he was sleeping, and if it was moving, well there was a serious problem. It probably took him about 4 months or so to get used to sleeping while I was driving. It wasn't that I was a bad driver, or that he didn't trust me. It was just something new. We tried everything to get him to sleep, and we finally found what worked the most. We put up black out curtains behind the seats, so that no light, much less wind from the window being down, and less noise from my singing or phone conversations made it back there. He also started using ear plugs. I will whole heartedly admit that I crank up the radio and sing at the top of my lungs while I am driving. Or I would get on the phone with one of my girlfriends and start giggling like a teenage girl. He also used a sleep mask to block out the little rays of light that may pass through the curtains.

It definately takes some getting used to, but he has no problems at all anymore.
