Frustration

Well, this week has not been the most profitable LOL.  I was home for the holiday, and other than that, actually had two dry runs in a row! One I deadheaded 214 miles for, the other 124... to find out there was a misunderstanding with the freight. What's the odds? 100% LOL>

Today was the second one, and then I got a nice load over to Terra Haute, IN.  Decent miles, nice load over 1500 lbs that made my van ride nice. It was a transfer load, and when I got to the transfer point, it was nice to see a guy I've transferred with before.  The business has been good to him lately, and he traded in his old van for a really sharp Sprinter.  I'd like to get one, but for now, my old faith Ford Van "Grace" is still chuggin along.. and it's PAID for!   Sitting at a Pilot in Brazil, IN tonight, and just got dispatched on a short airport run over in IL after midnight.  Just a small package, but someone needed it enough to charter a plane just for 2 little boxes, and I'll go drive it 10 miles from the airport!   That's the case sometimes. We haul a lot of big stuff, but it always amazes me to get some of these 'true emergency' loads, where the cost of chartering an airplane for a small package is less than what NOT having those items will cost the company.

So, relaxing for a couple hrs, then heading out.
