Family Time!

I've been home for the weekend enjoying some family time. I came in early Saturday morning to make it home for my anniversary.  We had a wonderful day spoiling each other, and just spending time with family and friends.  My wife and I went to lunch together, did the present thang (I got a new GPS for the van!) and then in the evening went to a family cookout.

Today is our daughter's 23rd birthday... not quite sure how that happened... LOL... seems like just yesterday she was running around in diapers!  We went to church this morning, then dinner together to celebrate.  That's one thing I enjoy about this job... when I really need to be home,  I can plan to take the time and go... sure, there's money to be made staying out on the road, but nothing can beat the smiles when Dad makes it home.

Our Sunday school lesson really made me think today. It was about serving God 'where we are'.  God puts us where we are for a reason.  No matter what your faith, denomination, or beliefs, most people believe we should be helping others when we can.  We need to keep our eyes open to how we can make a difference in the world around us... it may not seem like a huge thing, but to someone...it may be... I cross paths with litterally hundreds if not thousands of people every day.  How many of them could I make a small difference with? Maybe that dock worker, or waitress had a horrible day... just a smile and kind word could make a difference.

Not preachin... just thinkin!

Headed to North Carolina in the morn! Picked up a run yesterday for Monday morn delivery.  I'll be about 100 miles from the coast when I deliver, so if I don't get a run right out after sleeping, I think I'll try to head over for a while.  I'd like to see the Atlantic Ocean.
