Campmeeting!

               After my series of short runs, it actually put me in a good place to get another good run. Which led to another!  You just never know, but as a sign I saw outside a church said..."God Knows"!! 

              After delivering in Southern Ohio, I got a nice overnight run from KY to New Jersey.  I dropped it yesterday (Thursday), then shortly after got dispatched on a long weekend run which picks up today, and delivers near Little Rock, AR on Monday.  Since I had some extra time, I decided to drive up to the Binghamton, NY area, to visit a church campmeeting that where an Evangelist I know was speaking.  A church camp is a place where people come from all over to attend services with special speakers and musicians. The camp usually lasts a week or sometimes more.  Some, expecially retired folk, will even take their RV's and travel from campmeeting to campmeeting.

        It was my first time at this particular one, which is called Lily Lake.  It was in a heavily wooded secluded area. It was very nice, cool, and very relaxed atmosphere.  When I drove in and parked in the shade of some nice big trees, a guy had a wagon hooked up to a 4-wheeler, and was giving kids rides on the trails... very nostalgic. I remember taking hay rides as a kid.. you hardly hear of that anymore.

         I didn't figure anyone except the minister would know me, but imagine my surprise when I walked in, and someone called out to me from the platform, 'What are you doing in NY", and soon I"m getting hugs LOL.  Turns out the folks who were the singers, used to go to church with me in Ohio.  Also, several of the older folks (those travelling in their RV's I talked about) recognized me from other campmeetings I'd attended.  Also, a group of students from my kids College, and even the General Superintendant for our denomination were there, and came up to me.  In all, I recognized probably 20 people LOL.

       It was a great time, and I ended up just hangin out for a while, before going to get some sleep and heading for my pickup today.
