Fuel for Thought

Break down!

      I had a couple good runs this week, then just realized I forgot to blog!  My week started out with a bang.. but not the good kind.  After delivering in Toledo Friday night, I came home Saturday morning, ran errands, etc... the van did just fine. Monday morn, I got a good run up North of Toronto again... got packed up, got in the van, hit the key... nothing but the death whine.... you know the sound.. when that starter is whining and whining.. but not engaging!  It was running fine, then poof! I had a friend underneath, smacking it with a hammer, thinking maybe it was just stuck for some reason, but no go. So, I had to call in and get removed from the load, and go out of service to get it fixed.  Good/bad thing was, I just had replaced it back in July.. but I got it in Alabama at an Autozone. I called my local store manager, and between us we tracked down the transaction (luckily I save receipts!).. and he swapped it out..  by early afternoon I was running. However, since my DOT inspection was due, and I had already lost my place in line, I just stayed out of service, and went and got my inspection. 

         Tuesday I dispatched on a good run up North of Chicago.  Then last night, I got another run picking up by Madison, WI going to Kalamazoo, MI.  I delivered that this morning, then crashed out for the day... got my rest, now sitting in the Grand Rapids Express Center, waiting to get running again.
