Back in the groove!
Bout time I get back to blogging! Thanks again for the comments and concerned notes, but I'm fine! Just had a lot of stuff going on at home, and been taking more time off the road than normal. I spent last week attending a series of services at a local Church Campmeeting, (they actually invited me to sing at some of the services :) ) and I had to get some van maintenance done. Replaced the fan clutch, and the blower control switch. Still need to replace the A/C condensor, but for now, Back on the road, and running pretty well.
The past couple of days started off rough, with me still being the king of dry runs LOL. Tuesday, I accepted a run picking up Wed morning about 120 miles from home. It was a nice long run that would have delivered in the northern part of New Jersey, making the wait worth it. As soon as I got the pickup info tho, I got a bad feeling about the run. For some reason, I have bad experiences picking up form certain airlines, we'll leave it at that... LOL. I don't know how many times I've went there, and the paperwork is not complete, they didn't call in that the run cancelled, etc. But, once you accept a run, you can't back out for no good reason. So, I got up yesterday morn, drove South into KY for the pickup. After waiting for the dock workers to finish loading the plane they were working on, I finally got my turn. The worker showed me my crate, it was in! All right! Then he says.. "wait... um...".. NO NO NO. .... erg... you guessed it.... a release form from customs was not sent correctly. They couldnt' get it worked out... run cancelled. I was not a happy puppy. However, in this case, it did work out well. I got my dry run pay, and within 20 minutes was dispatched on another run picking up 2 miles away, heading to South Carolina. Readers will know I'd prefer runnin the mountains than going to Jersey anyway LOL. So, picked that up, ran a nice long run South, deliverd, slept, and now I'm hangin out near Greenville, NC, waiting for a good run offer. I've had a couple offers, but they were for tomorrow, and I have a commitment in Ohio tomorrow.
Good to be back running tho!
