The Rookie

How many aspects of your business do you still do the same as when you first started it ? Remember the joy of learning a new way to do something that made you more profitable, happy, calmer, confident or just thankful? In the eyes of a rookie, the world is new and full of possibilities.

Rookie Driver

Although I have been an owner operator for more than 25 years, I never tire of learning new things. There are always new things to learn in any profession, expediting(trucking), is no different. The driver who thinks he or she knows all, doesn't. I have always believed that while many people know a great deal, no one knows it all. Therefore, as times change, so does my business. While I consider myself a professional owner operator, I still try to look at it through the eyes of a rookie. Always learning and constantly adjusting to meet current changes and conditions.

Rookie Expediter

Having been in household goods moving for most of my career, I made the switch to expediting in 2014. While expediting and other segments of trucking, like household goods, have many things in common, there are some stark differences. Long before day 1 in expediting, I was reading, talking with expedite drivers, and just learning all I could to be as prepared as possible for this new line of work. ExpeditersOnline.com was, and still is, a valuable resource of information.

Rookie Writer

This one is the easiest for me to define. This is my first article. I'm not sure where this article this will lead, but I have just learned how difficult it can be to write. My goal with future articles will be to bring some fresh insights to a group of hard working people in a tough, ever changing industry.

Thankfully I'm not where I was yesterday and tomorrow I will be ahead of where I am today.

I'm sharing this with you as a reminder to work as a professional but look with rookie eyes and you will be surprised what you will see.

See you down the road,

Greg

I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from him.
