Who's the Fairest of Them All

Driving overnight thru the Arizona desert can lead a man's thoughts to amazing examples of beauty. Those of us of a certain vintage will remember feminine beauties of the 1970's quite well. As a teenager coming of age in the 70's, I saw an endless parade of female celebrities and entertainers cross the American stage. Put in the perspective of beauty as an art
form: valued as clean, wholesome, and yet senuous. A few names from the past come to mind, in no particular order. Do you remember these and how would you rate them with today's stars?
1) Stevie Nicks
2) Barbara Bach... (Mrs. Richard Starkey)
3) Jacqueline Bisset
4) gulp... Jane Fonda (forget her politics, think "Barbarella")
5) entire cast of SolidGold Dancers
6) Blondie... (in an eery sort of way)
7) Tina Turner
8) Susan Anton
9) Cher
10) Goldie Hawn
11) Barbara Mandrell
12) Louise Mandrell
13) Morgan Fairchild... (need I say more?)
14) the Pointer Sisters
15) Suzanne Somers... (American Graffiti)
16) Annie Lennox
17) Catherine Bach... ( life-changing event 1st time I saw her as Daisy Duke)
18) "Charo"
19) Bo Derek
20) Bridget Bardot
21) Donna Douglas
22) Barbara Carrerra
23) Lulu Romans
24) "Aunt Bea"
25) Betty Rubble

Of course this list only scratches the surface. Feel free to add nominees.

We have 'stars' today?

I thought they were tabloid fodder.

I see on the list you are missing Charlie's Angles (Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Tanya Roberts and Jaclyn Smith)

How about Ann Margret?

Oh when Goldie Hawn was on the cover of the AARP rag, I knew I was getting old.

How could you have forgotten Raquel Welch?? Let's not forget Sophia Loren - those two are at the top of my list. And since there's supposed to be a new Wonder Woman movie coming out, how about Linda Carter? I'm hard-pressed to think of any of today's girls that compare to these WOMEN - whose assets were God-given, not store-bought.

Whatever happened to Tawnee Welch? She was pretty hot in Cocoon.

Raquel Welch, YES. Barbara Eden, YES.

For those with a penchant for Goth, I offer "Elvira"

Among today's beauties: Jessica Alba and Shakira.

How about Marilyn Monroe and Jane Mansfield, two of the hottest women ever, and 100% natural endowments.

Now Elviria...she turned my crank.

let's not forget Lola Falana.....she was hot. If I'm right she exposed a very nice breast on the Johnny Carson show one night...by accident...back when it was live...I remember watching the show when it happened.... very nice body...she was hot

Ann Margret...all that gyrating in those Elvis Presley movies....sweet stuff.

Lets not forget Grace Kelly

Which babe was Mariska Hargitay's mother? She was the one that got decapitated in a car accident with Mariska in the back seat.

Jayne Mansfield but she wasn't decapitated.

She was not liked by her fellow actresses and actors, specifically Cary Grant hated her because she kept stealing the scenes they were both in. Another who didn't really like her was Sophia Loren for the upstaging of Loren at a party in her honor.

Speaking of Jayne and the movie she was in with Grant, I think Suzy Parker was better looking by far.

Since the subject of today's beauties has been touched upon, I'll be happy to end any debate on who might top that list before it starts...

Scarlett Johansen.

Period.
