Who was it that saw that FedEx short trailer?

As I went through Cinci yesterday I looked over in the South bound lane and there it was.
The same unit that someone else talked about in a previous thread about "why don't we use short trailers as well as 24' straight trucks?"
Well there is was being pulled by an older redish KW T600 with a 32' trailer (don't know if it was single axle) with FedEx CC big on the side of the trailer.
Looks like someone is doing it.

A couple years ago, we brought pup trailers up in a thread. I can't find it, but someone said that FXCC allowed them, and had one or two running.

I reported seeing a FedEx CC tractor pulling a 28' reefer with lift gate. I didn't get a good look at the tractor. The trailer is what caught my eye. But I believe the tractor had a 60" or 72" OEM sleeper.

Moot, that guys wife didnt want to pull a big trailer and they weren't happy with the normal D unit so thats how the pup reefer came along, and I am really sure, but I never saw it,he was suppose to have a big sleeper truck,I asummed, guess that was bad move on my part,he up graded to 32 foot pup,but maybe 32 is really 28,who knows.

There could be more than one of those rigs running around. I saw it exiting a scale from across the median. I guessed it to be a 28', but from that distance what's another 4 feet. I'm fairly sure on the sleeper size though.

It would be neat to have a SYSCO S/S trailer (polished of course) to pull around.

Nightcreacher, how many loads would you loose if you had only 32' and not 53'?

If a customer calls in for TT,and doesnt specify number of pallets or weight, would loose a lot of loads, with my 53'trailer,I only have 48' of floor space do to white glove equipment,I loose loads with the 53 footer.

There used to be a Fedex couple from Alabama that had a Sterling Tractor and a 28 ft reefer pup with a lift gate. It was considered a D unit but every so often they would get a E load that would fit and not put them overweight ,and be paid E rate.
