My son was laid off last Monday, he was working at a new job on Tuesday. No it doesn't pay as much, and he now has to travel across town, but it's a job and will pay his bills.
What I don't understand is, if things are so bad, how is it that all these people can still afford to go out to eat? I mean come on, have you seen any restaurants with empty parking lots?
When the talking heads scream it's as bad as the great depression, I sure have to wonder.

The media makes it sound like the end is near. Unemployment is 8.9% but there still is 91% still working.

Actually the unemployment rate is more like the people who are unemployed for less than 6 weeks. Even after my second year, I wasn't counted as unemployed.
