I was Saving this one for a thread i was going to write, about how close we might be to war but this thread is headed that way so ...

Infidel Bloggers Alliance: The Evolution of the Appeaser

The Evolution of the Appeaser
Norman Podhoretz has in a wise and clear article pointed out how a renowned French historian has described the strategy which led irresistibly to the WW II. See any parallel between the appeasers of World War II and today?

Stage 1 (negation): Germany is not at all rearming.
Stage 2 (bagatellisation): Okay, but not very much.
Stage 3 (relativating): Okay, but in relation to GB, France and Soviets, it is a tiny army.
Stage 4 (psychologization): Okay, but try to understand how they must feel surrounded, yes, under siege by many other nations!
Stage 5 (disengagement): Okay, but now it is too dangerous to confront them.
Stage 6 (appeasement): For hell, don't provoke them! That will only worsen the situation.
stage 7 (resignation): We can't do anything about it.
How about these parallels.

Stage 1 (negation): The terrorists are not real Muslims.
Stage 2 (bagatellisation): Okay. They say they are Muslims.
Stage 3 (relativating): Okay but it’s just a tiny minority of Muslims.
Stage 4 (psychologization): Okay, try to understand their anger.
Stage 5 (disengagement): Okay, let’s not make the 1.2 billion Muslims angry – make concessions.
Stage 6 (appeasement): Hell! Don’t provoke Iran and North Korea. That will only worsen the situation.
Stage 7 (resignation): Let’s leave the Middle-East and preach ‘no more war’. Maybe they’ll leave us alone.
What stage do you think we’re at?

Immature, foolish, un-educated (in reality, not books) and totally lacking in ANY form of experience. They might make Jimmy look smart. These people are Whacked out. I guess that might come from being "wasted" all those years when you should have been paying attention to real life, eh Barry?

Oh i have been saying for years that we have evolved into a society where our intellectual elite is neither.

Why do we keep electing these idiots? It IS our fault. We elect fools and lunitics and then, for some reason, are shocked when things go badly. We listen to TV like a GOD and are un-willing or un-able to decerne truth from the lies or fiction. We choose to believe "Feel Good" promises as opposed to learning history. It did not work for Nevel Chaimberlin(sp?) It did not work for Jimmy Carter. It did not work for Bill Clinton. What makes anyone think that it will work now? Weakness causes wars. Layoutshooter

Well the word is race and euphoria.

The problem with Race is that we have serious issue with it and no one wants to call it as it is, this is not the greatest accomplishment for the black race, it is a sad representation of the race. This guy did things to get there where others actually worked hard to get there.

Euphoria is medically recognized as an emotional and mental state defined as a sense of great (usually exaggerated) elation and well-being.

Now with that all said, people need to get it together and fight this health care take over. I can not tell you enough that Medicare and Medicaid is the most mismanaged program in the word. There is no other place in the world where you can have so much internal corruption while ignoring the runaway fraud. Even some Third World countries' programs run better than that. The point is that Medicare and Medicaid is going to be the model used for socialized medicine. So we are going to jeopardize 300 million people to cover 20 million.

Sorry Mr. Jones, we are over our quota for cancer drugs, so we rescheduled you chemo treatment for june, it is only three months that you have to wait.

Interesting Greg the guy mentioned in the article above, had written an article back in 1964 that kinda covers that you can find a link to it from the wiki-page about him.... Norman Podhoretz is his name, he once said that 43 was the most unjustly persecuted man of this century

OK, I guess. I don't put a lot of credence in what he has said in the past, and I have read his books.

Like his criticism over the US not bombing Iran, it is an uneducated viewpoint that is dangerous to follow. The point that many miss is the thought that it is simple to do but there will be the reaction of the people of Iran and the anger from that, causing a backlash against the work already done there. We need the people to change, it is not like Iraq where the regime kept everyone in fear, there is a lot in Iran that goes unnoticed like the women's rights groups that have gain momentum.

This goes back to his comments in the 80's where he said we must be appeasers with the Soviets, pretty much heloing them succeed - wasn't he the one who said that we are losing the cold war?
