Veterans turned away?

How much does it cost to keep an open air memorial open compared to a round of golf in a possibly otherwise closed to the public course with secret service and all the associated expenses? They sure made a stink whenever Bush played golf. I think they played about the same number of rounds of golf. The difference is that Bush took all 8 years to do it and Obama played that many the first year and has just kept on going.

Young veterans and non-veterans can't visit the memorial, either. There are lots and lots of federal attractions that are closed today. All sites worldwide under the control of the American Battle Monuments Commission are also closed. 401 National Parks across the nation are closed. All museums, including the Smithsonian and the National Art Gallery, are closed. It's a really long list.

Every last one of them should be arrested for trespassing, domestic terrorism, and for failing to have honor or integrity.

Who? The Congress? The Memorial does NOT belong to the "government", it belongs to those who the "government" tried to keep out. They were not "trespassing", they were visit what they own, what they paid for with their blood. It is the government that is without honor or integrity. They are the interlopers.

Lest we forget, the bulk of the money used to pay for the memorial was NOT paid for with government funds. Only 16 million of the 197 million was government money. 181 million was paid for with private donations. The land is owned by the People.

The memorial was only closed because a petty, would-be dictator, is angry that he is not getting his way. He is "stomping" his feet because a majority of congressmen, the representatives of the People, did what they were sent there to do, vote to get rid of Obama Care. The twerp in charge can't handle it. In many ways that petty, tin horn, far more resembles the leaders of the countries those brave vets fought against in WWII than a president who is sworn to protect and defend the Constitution.

Those vets, were going there to pay their respects to their friends and Brothers in arms, one last time. The majority of them are far too old for another chance to say thanks and good-by.

The twerp in charge, having never done anything that takes courage, does not understand that.

MMMMMMMMMM! It would seem that Obama sent more guards to keep WWII vets out of THEIR Memorial than he did to protect the embassy in Benghazi.
