Funny you mention that. I heard something the other day about Texas wanting to jump ship. Just heard it in passing. Don't know any of the details.
Kentucky? Really? I wouldn't take the voting habits of a bunch of Nascar fanatic, tobacco growing, snuff chewing fundamental baptists as a cross section of America. Name one Kentuckian besides Colonel Sanders who has ever been relevant to anything outside of Kentucky. Nashville doesn't count. Oh wait...Well, maybe Wally Wilkinson. I liked that guy.
My ex-brother in law from NJ had a similar attitude: everybody from south of the Mason-Dixon line was an ignorant, racist redneck. Since all our families were from TN, AL and KY we were expected to ignore his blatant contempt for Italians and Jews, laugh at his non-stop Polish jokes, and go along with his totally uninformed opinions on everything else. Ignorance and bigotry know no boundaries.Really that's your view? Talk about diminishing ones stance on all subjects.

Once a breakaway movement starts, it's going to include much more than Texas. Socialism isn't going to stand in many areas. Socialism isn't compatible with a free people.
Basic human compassion is not Socialism.
It is also not the responsibility of government.
That's one philosophy. Apparently the opposing philosophy, at least at this time, is more popular.
No that's the constitution

Even that aside our country cannot financially survive legislating compassion. Regardless of views that is a cold hard fact.
Explain the constitution, read it.
Nope that's an upgrade.

In business there is something called the Point Of Profit Maximization. This occurs when marginal revenue = marginal cost. In the case of our government, revenue needs to be increased. raising taxes will help. Everyone needs to pay more.

Some need to pay That do not now no one needs to pay more. Spending needs cut. Even if we doubled taxes we still cannot afford companion except in the most needy cases. No country has ever survived that or accomplished it.
