Tony Snow died

The conservatives lost a great advocate today. Tony died from cancer, which he had battled on and off for many years. Tho his stint as WH press secretary was entertaining, to say the least, I miss his radio show. He brought a good dose of common sense to the listeners. RIP Tony.

He was a good man, indeed. I give him kudos for taking on the challenge of being W's press secretary. Not a job many would want, I think.

I saw my doctor this week for a DOT and a couple of other issues. He mentioned it was getting past time I had a colonoscopy. As INCREDIBLY unpleasant as that sounds,(gulp), I guess I'm going to go in over the Christmas break. As I go under, I'm sure I'll be screaming "no, no, it's an EXIT portal!!!"

As a conservative, I followed Tony Snow's career over several years. He was an able advocate for many good causes. Yet, he and I parted on philosophical grounds when he carried water for Gearge W. on NAFTA, amnesty for illiegals and, worst of all, the Dubai ports deal that almost went through. He was an inspiration in his brave fight against cancer. All of us middle-aged guys should consider scheduling tests for colon and prostate cancer.

Highway,
I guess this is off subject, but if they make you drink a gallon of this stuff called "Go Lightly" make for darn sure you get the flavoring that comes with it. I didn't and it tasted horrible. That was really the worst part. I don't know where you are getting it done. I got mine done at the Little Rock VA. They are notoroius for not giving enough anthesia. I slept through the upper ok I just remember trying to pull the tube out. By time the got to the "exit portal" the drugs had worn off. All I remember was screaming a few obscenities. Then the doctor asked if needed more meds I said yes. 15 minutes later I still didn't have them. I told him if didn't have them soon I was whooping someone's you know what when I got off the table. The next thing I knew I was playing guitar and singing with Hank Sr. at the Grand Ole Opry. We were putting on quite a show. We both had on those fancy Cowboy suits like he used to wear.

Oh yeah all the nurses were like your the youngest vet I think we've had come in for this.

It really isn't off topic as Tony died from liver cancer that had spread from his colon. I'm sure he would be happy that his untimely passing helped raise some awareness. Since he was the same age as me it kind of slapped me up side the head. Maybe I can convince myself that it's a chocolate milkshake and it'll go down a bit better.

Oh, the good news is, since I don't know what you look like, I don't have to deal with the mental picture of you dancing around in some over the top, old fashioned cowboy get-up! LOL!! Just kidding, dude...

just look at myspace and then you'll have a clue. It was alot better experience than when the meds had worn off. Plus I've been trying to get Hank Sr's "I Saw the Light" down on my guitar for over a year to play at church and haven't succeeded yet. With that being said my colonoscopy at age 23 will most likely be the closest I get to playing at the Grand Ole Opry.

Tony will be missed. I had to drink TWO gallons of that stuff. That was the worst part of the whole thing. Layoutshooter

Tony Snow was a very good man and I will miss him. He was the redeamer on Fox and always gave both sides equal time. I enjoyed him and his light hearted ability to keep things in perspective with the press. A thankless job he perfomed with dignity and grace.

Star, get it done and be glad your not doing it 20 yerars ago when I had my first one done..
No sleepy time. It hurt and you were forced to watch it on a monitor above the bed. God awful experience.
Now it's night night time and it's over. The drink is not pleasent but it beats the hell out of CC.
No excuse's Star. Get it done and be glad your doing it.

I've gotta agree with you about it being better than getting cancer. Even drinking that stuff isn't as bad as taking chemo.
