Thank you for contacting me regarding your support for making English the official language of the United States. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know your views on this important issue.
I believe that English should be our country's primary language. Communication, which binds our nation together, is difficult without a single language. Thus, it is imperative that new immigrants learn English in order to best integrate into America. Canada's succession fight is a prime example of what can happen if a country does not have a single language, and I feel that any legislative attempt to undermine the use of the English language within the U.S. should be examined with regard to what aspects may be causing an undue burden on our government. I believe that while making government services and documents accessible to immigrants is important, it should be reviewed to ensure that it is not causing an unreasonable amount of wasted funds or work force within the federal government.
forwarding lawrences 14 points of spending on illeagals.
On the other hand, I do not believe that adopting an English-only policy will solve the problem in a way that maintains American ideals. The United States is a country that takes pride in its diversity. We live in a nation of immigrants, and much of our greatness stems from our utilization of each other's cultural and ethnic variations. Much of the values that we recognize as American - hard work, ingenuity, and fairness - come as a result of the contributions from the energy of immigrants. Without these contributions, our nation would not be in the position of power and prestige that we enjoy today. The executive order has made important government services and documents more accessible, thereby encouraging relationships with those who wish to benefit our nation through hard work and constructive contributions. While some aspects of the legislative proposals to make English the official language of the U.S. may be burdensome, efforts to exclude the accommodation of prevalent languages in our society are also unacceptable. Such a policy would hurt our nation, and it would hamper those who wish to assimilate in our country. I believe that a careful balance can be struck that serves both immigrants and government agencies best.
and the other demopublican senator did not even bother to respond. he's done also. watch out for the stock fall in kohls stores.
