The Wishy Washy Candidates

Have you noticed lately. Before all this primary stuff began the American voters were polled to see what mattered the most in this election. The three most important issues were the economy, the war and illegal immigration. I have followed both parties and have noticed that the immigration thing is consistently left out of the discussion. It only makes it more evident that not one of these candidates has distanced them selves from corporate America. Corporate America wants the illegals here to work for nothing and drive our wages lower. And not one of these pawns will separate themselves from the most illegal thing of all, money in politics. We as a nation can do nothing about it because you see what we have to vote for. They all are getting the on top and under the table handouts. At the expense of what is best for our country. The Dems are working on the entitlement thing. (Oh! By the way ol George kinda got on that wagon this week with his handout) The Pubs on scare tactics and religion. Nothing in this country will change as long as the American people have no voice.

Well... I like to say "With Bush, we were expecting steak and eggs. Instead, we got fajitas and egg fu yung.

Needless to say, there is no caviar on this year's menu.
With Mit Romney, we're likely to get humble pie and chowda.
With Rudy, we're likely to get a big plate of spaghetti with LOTS of meatballs.
Huckabee - squirrel, with a side of "AMEN, BROTHER!"
Obama - cous cous with lotsa veggies.
McCain - plenty of menudo!!!
Hillary - sh** on a shingle. Tho this place had the right idea...

You know that we don’t let ourselves have a voice, but we have one.

The proof …

A long long time ago there was a bill presented to the public as the solution to a big problem, the invasion of our country. We the people spoke up and threatened the status quo by sending mail, faxes, calling them and even being in the offices of our representatives. It worked and can work again. Of course some senators decided that it is not right to have the people speak up and wanted to introduce laws, just like the campaign reform laws called McCain-Feingold which restricts our 1st amendment rights.

This was the immigration reform bill introduced by the Senate last year.

Well the moral of that story is we have to get off our a**es and do something about the issues.

Now for the ‘candidates’ themselves there is no one, I mean no one that really should be president in this bunch.

On one side we have people who call themselves republican and they are so off the mark and that there is cohesion within the entire party – just see what principles that they are promoting, I can’t find them anymore.

The worst person that we could ever have as president and that is in the running is McCain, a person who has no principles and truthfully a lot of us are sick of hearing about how great he is, he has done nothing for the country – nothing. He has been endorsed by the NY times, doesn’t that mean anything. If you examine his position of a year ago, the insults he has made towards the American people and the fact his name is on McCain-Feingold.

On the other side, we have three democrat(s) running and they are all scary in their own right.

Do we really want to have a person (no reflections on race at all) that has not really done anything? We will end up with another president Wilson with a different name.

Do we really want an ambulance chaser?

Do we really want Hillary?

The dems have people who could make a good president but they will not promote them beyond local and state elections. And when you talk about money, big business has nothing, I mean nothing on the dems, the control of the party and media by their money source, Moveon and Soros. They have hijacked the party and control it.

I will repeat this again. I strongly feel that we need to eliminate the primaries as a way for the parties to select their candidates. Primaries are not a constitutional thing; they are a party thing and only has been used in mass since ’68, so it can come to an end without difficulty. Our tax money goes to run it and for some twisted reason goes to match the funds of the candidates of the primary who will not run for president in the election which is wrong. If you are worried about a voice in a party, join the party. But the biggest reason is the elimination of voter fatigue, which in itself is a serious problem we have here. By the time the election actually happens, no one cares.

People complain about coporate America running politics, but really it's our own fault. I mean most of us will vote for a person of our choosing, but that's it. Think about it. Someone is running for the House out of your district. If they win they will be your Rep. You hope they win so you decide to vote for them, but you won't contribute a dime to their campaign. Guess what? Big businesses in the area will. If a person could run for a postition solely off of money donated by future constitutes( the working guy) he wouldn't have to take money from big biz therefore he wouldn't owe them anything when he gets elected. He'll owe the people he serves and should vote accordingly.

It's refreshing to know that you have enough extra money to donate to the cause. I wouldn't give these 6 top runners the time of day, much less hard earned money. And yes I will complain about the corporation's donating money. It should be set up where each candidate was given x amount of money, excepting no outside dollars and may the best man win. Not the one with the most money.

You might want to reread what I said. Or do you guys have a house seat open in Kentucky with 6 front runners? If that is the case how do you narrow down the field up there? The point I'm trying to make is everyone wants to sit back and complain, but do nothing to help solve the problem. The founding fathers of this nation wanted people to be able to change things when they needed changing not sit around and complain about it. That's why truckers are getting an anal screwing from the governement. No one wants to unite, no one wants to try to get involved and change anything, everyone wants to go their own way, and everyone wants to cry like a bunch of little babies. I'm not saying I have a ton of extra money, but if I did and there was someone I believed enough in I would give what I could. Even if it wasn't anything more than 20 bucks. Heck it's not cheap to just get your name on the ballot. That's why we don't have what we need more of. Independent politians. They have to have the support of the party, be independtly wealthy, or have enough support from the regular Joe to make a run at it. If I really beleived in someone I would host a fundraiser or something. I would try to do my part. I would not just lay around and be a baby about it.

The 6 frontrunners being the top three of each party. No baby here by the way. Just sick of politics in this country. I pay enough taxes, not willing to give a damn cent to someone who will blow it on a walking track or some stupid thing that may satisfy their whim. Still like my idea of a set amount, take it out of the politicians retirement fund they had no trouble raiding social security to fund whatever war they wanted to attend. That should be enough for each of them to go on the lying trail.

And you think Congress would vote that into law? It's the same reason why Congress put term limits on the President, but not themselves. They are not going to do anything to adversly affect their postitions.

Ark,
The states actually gave us term limits through the constitutional amendment process. You know that term limits are a states only issue, not a federal issue.

In some states (21 to be exact) had term limits voted by the people and promoted by the republicans but some elected idiots and the league of women voters went to court and had our votes cheapen by having term limits struck down. This is the real reason we need a serious look at term limits again and force the feds to follow the states rights, constitutional amendment to repeal 17th amendment and a very serious look at limiting the powers of the federal government under the 10th amendment.

You know I got to throw this in for some thought, some people are so d8mn sensitive to their right to vote - OMG don't force them to use a photo ID, don't refuse them entry to a voting booth because they are not from the area/city/state/country, and don't you dare tell them that the voting should be mandated privilege but let the same people vote on a law, make it into a law and then have a court nullify that vote, they don't say a thing. Odd that they don't get it, maybe we need to go back to land owners only voting.

I certainly don't agree with landowners only voting. Heck that would knock me out of voting. The point I was trying to make is so many people feel like once they leave the voting booth they have done their part and there is nothing left for them to do for the next 2 years. Then 2 years later it's time to vote again. They go vote and feel like they have done their part. Between the two elections they just complain. It's like you say. Be engaged. Get involved. Try to make difference. If you try and nothing comes of it at least you can look at yourself in the mirror and say you tried.
