The Trump Card...

That's part of the story but not all of it. You left out the part where Perot reentered the race.
Not really relevant to his initial dropping out of the race and the main reason why. But, yes, he did reenter the race. By that time though he lost the mojo(political momentum) at the same time as Bill Clinton was gaining it as the “change” candidate. He lost some support by quitting. It didn’t help also that his VP pick appeared ill prepared for the debate. His dismal showing sunk whatever small chance Perot had. Him quitting the race and then jumping back in also gave fodder for his political foes and the media who used it as a cudgel to label him as indecisive, compulsive, and unreliable.
I actually was hoping Perot would win and was pulling for Stockdale in the debate. But both their performances down the stretch of the election season turned out to be a bridge too far.

Trump's DWAC Deal STILL Pending

They keep kicking the can down the road because they can't find investors to close the deal. It has been months now and more months of delay lie ahead. It seems the public is on to this and emperor DWAC has no clothes. Business deals like this SPCAC-DWAC merger usually close or are canceled. This deal is a zombie deal that is not being permitted to die and is not coming to life either.

Because they’re being hassled by the opposing party’s regime:
They are being delayed by the SEC because they cannot meet the standards the SEC has for all other such deals. Those rules do not exist to hassle Trump. They exist to protect investors from fraud. And in this case that is especially relevant given the recent criminal conviction and prior civil court findings that companies or entities Trump controls committed fraud (Trump Organization, Trump University, Trump Foundation).

Just as violent felons have hard time getting gun permits, known fraudsters have a hard time obtaining SEC approval.

FL Judge Slaps Trump & His Attorney With $1 Million in Sanctions for Their Frivolous Use of the Court

Bravo!

“'We are confronted with a lawsuit that should never have been filed, which was completely frivolous, both factually and legally, and which was brought in bad faith for an improper purpose,' wrote Judge John Middlebrooks in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in his order sanctioning Trump and his attorney Alina Habba.

"Middlebrooks in his order Thursday noted that 'Mr. Trump is a prolific and sophisticated litigant who is repeatedly using the courts to seek revenge on political adversaries.'

“'He is the mastermind of strategic abuse of the judicial process, and he cannot be seen as a litigant blindly following the advice of a lawyer,' Middlebrooks wrote.

“'He knew full well the impact of his actions ... As such, I find that sanctions should be imposed upon Mr. Trump and his lead counsel, Ms. Habba.'”

Question what was the lawsuit over because it matters.

Oh Russian collusion hoax.
More specifically, from CNBC (source):

"Trump’s lawsuit claimed that Clinton, the Democratic National Committee, former FBI officials and others conspired to weave a false narrative that his 2016 presidential campaign was colluding with Russia"

The problem with the above statement is that the so-called Trump/Russia collusion has been completely debunked and exposed as a hoax. This ridiculous fine will probably be appealed and the final result will be Trump pays nothing. The larger issue is that anyone - including Trump - should have recourse against defamation like the Russia collusion hoax.

This was a Bill Clinton appointed judge.
With the exception of Trump-appointed Judge Cannon, whose pro-Trump ruling was overturned by the appeals court, and who was excoriated by the same, it does not seem to matter who appointed the judges that hear the political cases Trump brings. Up to and including the US Supreme Court, trump fares poorly in the political and tax cases he brings.

That has less to do with which president appointed which judge, and much to do with the law and the weak cases Trump brings to the court, or the weak responses he make when others brings strong cases against him.

It's sad to see that there are those who fault the judge instead of accepting the fact that Trump is actually guilty, actually wrong, or actually liable in the given case. In their distorted view, it's not Trump's fault for committing the bad deed, it's the judges fault for making a bad ruling. Trump is their hero, and he can do no wrong, they seem to believe.
