That depends on the circumstances, which in this case are unknown.
This video has been out for a long time. There should be explanation by now on why an officer was waving people to walk into a restricted area.

Sure it is possible. Tens of thousands were there to see the speech and many walked over to the capitol at different times. A police officer waving people in doesn’t lend credence that it was restricted.
And what do hundreds of officers, some called in as reinforcement, manning barricades and pushing people back lend credence to?

Yes but there has been no explanation yet, so the circumstances remain unknown. I have a theory but without the explanation, it’s not a theory I can defend. You seem less encumbered by logical rigor, so draw what conclusions you will. Just don’t expect others to blindly buy in.

He doesn’t look like an officer to you? Would a person coming up on him get the impression that he was an officer since he appears to be in police uniform? Yes or no?

You cannot legitimately argue or imply that one officer waving people on somehow legitimizes illegal entry into a restricted area when the area was in fact restricted and hundreds of other officers were using force to keep people out.

Yes restricted don’t go in there. Sure.
Some that came later may not have seen the fights and people pushed back. Arrived in the aftermath and were allowed to go in. Police officer waving to come this way. Some people may not have known what transpired earlier. Some shouldn’t just assume that everyone knew or saw what happened.

You don’t know why he was waving people to come in then? Was this at the same time or later?

Be that as it may, it was nonetheless, restricted.

For the terminally stupid who can't seem to think straight, the barriers should have been a tipoff ...

He really can't ... but trust me, he will give it try.

You are talking about a single officer. What about the many others who were clearly doing everything they could to keep people out? And what about the fact that force or commands were used to eventually clear the building so business could resume? The police intent was not to aid the protests in the building. It was to keep. the protesters out. We know this because that’s what they finally did. They cleared the protesters out.
It was a restricted area. Just some people who arrived later may not have known it was a restricted area because at some point they were let in by police before being cleared out later to conduct business. Like officers decided to let people in and walk thru. Let them protest a bit, take pictures, and then clear them out with commands.

I do not know, and neither do you. No point in further discussing until additional details are learned.

Those charged with illegal entry or remaining will have their day in court. They'll be able to make their points there. It's fruitless to argue them here because we do not have the necessary details. I'm done with this topic.

The officers in question are being investigated. We'll learn more when those details come out.

Right investigators will do nothing to the Capitol police they will get a pat on the back and nothing will be done just like the officer that shot Ashley Babbitt.

Yep, it’s incredibly gullible thinking by some that the investigation will be open and transparent after looking at the way the (“investigation”) Babbit shooting was handled.
Naive
