the system is out of control

According to the police report, kindergartner Salecia Johnson is accused of tearing items off the walls and throwing furniture.
She was crying in the principal's office at Creekside Elementary before police arrived Friday. The report says the girl knocked over a shelf that injured the principal. It also says she was seen biting the door knob of the office and jumping on the paper shredder. And, it says, she attempted to break a glass frame above the shredder.

The report says when the officer tried to calm the child, she resisted and was cuffed.
They should have tazed her little butt and then handcuffed her parents and charged them with failing to control an exotic pet. They should also file charges for naming her Salecia.

"She has mood swings some days, which all of us had mood swings some days. I guess that was just one of her bad days that day," said Constance Ruff, the girl's mother.

Just one of her bad days? Really? Ya think?

"She might have misbehaved, but I don't think she misbehaved to the point where she should have been handcuffed and taken downtown to the police department," said her aunt, Candace Ruff.

She was tearing items off the walls and throwing them and the furniture at people. She was ripping down shelves, and she was gnawing on a doorknob trying to get out. Gnawing..on..a..doorknob. A doorknob. Biting it. GGGRRRR...AAARRRGGGHHH.... GGGGRRR.

You've got some good points there, except for tasing the child.

The tazing (tasing?) of the child was, of course, sarcasm and not intended to be take seriously. Same with the exotic pet reference. It was just to make the point.

I say tasing because the device is a Taser™.

Like Kleenex tissues and Velcro hook & loops fasteners. Both are brand names as well as trademarks.

TASER is actually an acronym for Thomas A. Swift Electronic Rifle. The inventor of the device was a big Tom Swift fan and named it after Swift's nifty gun.

Right...I understand if school admins are wary of liability and are reluctant to put their hands on her, but any cop who can't control a child or senior citizen with their hands is too fragile for the job.

I saw the video... Those people ARE the problem..

"that can damage that child for life!".. ya and so can that child breaking a glass framed picture over their head.. It could also terminate the child's life. their point is?

The school employees where likely leashed with a don't touch policy and thus, the only person able to restrain the child was a police officer.

Since the "child" was posing a threat to herself and others she had to be removed form the school. Where were they to take her? Since it was the police that restrained her it seems only fitting that the police take her to the station until the parents can come get her.

Child protective services should be visiting them soon. I have a a son with ADHD that can cause him to be very.. uh.. active.. I know how to keep him in control. It's to the point where a look will settle him down. My daughter is autistic. She can sometimes display the same behavior. However, both my kids know right from wrong and they know when to stop and ask for a time out. Normally this means going to the gym or outside to work it off in a safe way.

From where I sit those parents have failed their child.
