Secret Service Arrests Armed Man for Alleged Obama Threat - ABC News

This is stupid. Many people go armed in their home and many people make threat remarks against all kinds of leaders in the world, but that doesn't mean we or they act on them,,this whole arrest thingie is dumb, IMHO.

How many in here have explosive items in their home? Some have gasoline in the garage, spray cans are explosive, gunpowder for making your own ammo, fertilizer for the yard, drain pipe leftovers, all the hype here is lame. If you have a farm, a business , you might have explosive cans, and cleaners around the place.

Don't know what the guy said, if anything. No proof, yet, that he even sent the email, if one was sent. As to going armed in your home, Obama wants that stopped as he wants ALL forms of self protection stops. People who choose to defend themselves are often difficult to control, which is what he is after. I often answer the door armed. Seldom with a shotgun, normally a .357 or .380.

I dunno how stupid it is. The headline tells me that someone made a direct threat to the president, and when he was arrested he was armed at the time. So, I go and read the story, and yep, that's precisely what happened.

Being armed in your home is fine, and people make threats against leaders all the time, it's just that most of those threats aren't in the form of an e-mail sent to the FBI, which is what this guy did. You want stupid, there ya go.

That is assuming that the press reports are accurate. That is assuming that he, and not someone else, sent that threat. That is assuming that a threat was even sent.

You're right, but at this point there is no information whatsoever that would raise doubt on any of the things you mention.

Nope. Just always wonder when I here this stuff. It is not like the government can be trusted OR the press trusted to report it right. Why even report it? The investigation is not even over. It would not surprise me to see an INCREASE in these reports. A weak president is running for reelection. He could just be looking for sympathy. Off on my run, later gaters.

It gets reported because it's newsworthy.

We both know that reporting has little to do with 'newsworthy' these days. It is now only about ratings and pushing an agenda. I predict that over the next few months MORE of these 'threats' will come to light. Most of those who threaten will be white, vets, skinheads and/or religious zealots and ALL will own guns. NONE will even be in the same county or state and no REAL threat at that time. IF there were to be a further extreme leftist threaten, it will not be reported.

It's all just being done to scare the rest of us to just "sit there with your mouth shut". All part of the big plan.
