He is promising the 40-50,000 troop INCREASE IF certain house and senate members vote FOR the health care takeover. IF it passes he will announce troop increase. Air power would go a long way but EVERY war is won by the ground pounders in the end. Take off the STUPID Rules of Engagement, let's finish this thing off. Then we can insure the protection of the Nukes in Pakistan and prevent terrorists from using Afghanistan as a training base again. The Afghan people are a very proud and noble people who's lives have been destroyed by this mess. We need to control the country until THEY can recover. Then turn it over to THEM as soon as we can. Much like we did with Germany and Japan at the end of WWII. It will take LONGER in this case, but it can and MUST be done. OUR safety and security depend on it.

See now here is the thing, if he is actually holding the war effort hostage to gain health care votes, then the congress should be the only target. They are allowing this to happen, they are the ones who know better and they are the ones who actually control Obama.

It is really simple, without total control of the congress, the people are powerless. The incumbent who will be up for reelection next year will count on you forgetting about this and other things they did while their challengers won't use this issue against them even though it is the right thing to do.

We need to reach into the Progressives' bag of tricks and actually do what they wanted to do for the last 130 years - a recall amendment. This can be done by the states and regardless what people think of other solutions, this is the only one that will work. You add a recall amendment to the Constitution, it puts the burden on congress to listen to their constituents or be recalled and forbidden to run again - onces it is an amendment, no one can kill it in court.

You are correct Greg, the congress has to go along with it for it to happen. The problem is that MOST of the congress is in lock step with him and the world's left. This goes beyond our borders. Our State would NEVER recall Dingell, Liven or Stabenow. This part of the State would elect Stalin if he was running!!

Japan and Germany....only after air power. Makes moping up easier.

So true, it takes a combination of air power and ground to win. It is no longer possible to use just ground troops. Air power would have to be used differently in this conflict than it was in WWII. There are FEW large military targets, like factories etc to wipe out. This conflict requires MUCH more close air support of ground based operations.

We also have to secure the areas that border with Pakistan first then move out from there. Those nuke MUST be our first priority.

yeap, this will be blamed on bush and rummy for binladen getting away in 2001, but they won't mention clinton not taking him when he was offered up back then....then they will hold up john kerrys report that he had done 3 weeks ago that said bush is to blame, even though kerry said in 2001 that we were doing the right thing by not adding more troops....

then you have barry taking this "dog and pony" show to "West Point".....again using the US Military for ANOTHER photo opt....every other president, would have held this press conference from the Oval office with no audience...but barry needs the back drop of a "forced" military audience behind him....when in reality, he has no use for them......
