Steath Poison Ivy

I am in the process of "enjoying" a very bad case of "Stealth" poison ivy. I won't go into the details of exactly where I have it but let it suffice to say that it makes it VERY difficult to sit for long hours. A REAL problem in this business. The worst of it is that I did NOT "EARN" it. I have not been in the field at all for any reason. I have not handled any branches, leaves or even walked on a grassey area. It is very odd. I get this stuff very easy. I know I don't have to touch it. There are enough "oil Dropplets" that come off the leaves when the wind blow that I can get it that way, but the leaves are not out yet. I have NO idea how, when or why. Anyone else every get to "enjoy" a stealth case of this fine vine? Layoutshooter

Layout, have you been doing any digging lately? I knew a guy that was a lineman for an electric co-op. Many electric lines are now buried underground which required him to dig. He would get poison ivy from the roots, even in early spring before the plants sprouted.

"...scratching in the sun for another overload."

Do you have a pet or have you been around any animals that may have picked up some of the oil on their fur? Maybe a pet laid on some clothing and transferred oil that way? I'm sorry to hear about your malady and hope you're feeling a little less "itchy" soon. :D

No pets either. Maybe I shook hands with someone who had it on them, that is the ONLY thing I can think of. Layoutshooter
