good article with proven facts. we to did the soy milk thing and have now gone to almond milk. virtually the same but less calories than the soy. also the shelf life of these two products are far longer than milk.

You can drink cow's milk right out of the cow. Try doing that with a soybean.

I think it is all 'false advertising' away. You cannot get 'milk' out of a turnip, a bean or a grain of rice. Milk can ONLY be found in the mammary gland. Those glands are found on mammals, not beans!! Geez, looks like someone flunked biology in grade school. ;)

LOL!! Can't get 'milk' out of a bean. Besides, like it or not, we are ALL, 100% of ALL human beings, are going to die from the exact SAME cause of death, conception. NOTHING can change that.

Besides, I don't like milk. Imagine, drinking the 'modified sweat' of a cow. YUMMMY!

There really aren't any independent studies which show soy milk to be any more or less healthy than cow's milk. There is a lot of spin and rationalization on both sides of this invented marketing competition to make you believe you should be consuming one over the other, but the reality is they are different foods and comparing them in some sort of competition is like comparing pureed cauliflower to mashed potatoes. Eat whichever one you like.

well, you can certainly see which one has less fat and calories. as far as shelf life after you open it the soy, almond and rice are way better.

Like is said, different foods. It should come as no surprise that different foods would have different fat and caloric content. Less fat doesn't necessarily mean better for you, either. Less fat but higher carbs is far more unhealthy than low carbs, high fat, because of the way the body deals with excesses of each. And not all calorie are created equal, despite many people thinking that a calorie is a calorie. There are people who actually believe that margarine is more healthy than butter.

Just think if the Humans were food. We would be placed somewhere to eat to our hearts content. Some lucky males would be selected to breed, some unlucky males would be castrated at birth to grow and be eaten.
