What you present is not new ground. It has been looked at and considered by many therorists and has pretty much been discounted as second and third hand inflamitory rhetoric. But who knows ? What I do know is that the witch hunt went on for 8 years and by the time the thing was finished it was still a stain on a blue dress. Even with the Republican lead "ethics " (now there's an oximorin )shinanigans and impeachment charges,Clinton still left office with an 80% plus favorable rating by American voters and taxpayers.
Bush may be able to claim 25%,but I doubt it. My point is that the guy in power has to eat the apple and the worms when his watch is over. I really hate to hear you bring up how Clinton got credit for Rayguns policies etc. Thats the kind of c**p Leo likes to shake about as if there is some degree of truth to it.Its first class drivil.

I work for a bunch of Republican hard nose's and they all walked into my office the day Clinton was elected to his first term. "Hold on to your wallet Cal,here comes big Governement to fleece us all". This ****ed compnay prospered beyond everyones expectations and wildest dreams for the next 8 years. Raygun had nothing to do with it.I hated Raygun (that SOB dropped CS on me and my friends in front of Sproul Hall at UC in '68) when he was the anti Arnold Govenor. What a chicken s**t MoFo that guy was. Another worthless GOP President on in my opinion. Rights, what rights,it's all about me and my National Guard. What a freak.

I agree with you, about letting the SOB investment bankers hang with Bubba and his posse at San Quentin. This bail out is nothing more then Repub's saving the ***'s of their croonies, nothing more. The Dem's should vote aganst it and let the chips fall where they may.I own a house on the water in Southern China on Hinon Island,so I really could care less most days about what happens. It may be to late to save anything after those cretons raped us all. They and are sitting pretty, laughing their ***'a off, along with Bin Laudin.

Thank you again you two time Bush voters.Glad Leo thinks we are better off then if the Dem's drove the bus. What else would you expect from the consumate red cool aid drinker?

Yeah for sure, if the Palin choice is an example of McCain's decision making abilty we all better get on the Obama bandwagon. Did he really think that would sway the woman's vote?
You've got to be kidding . I jumped off the Obama bandwagon when I learned of Biden falsely stating the truck driver involved in his first wife's death was drinking . The driver was found blameless . The driver died in 1999 . When his daughter heard of Biden making false statements about him drinking she wrote to Biden in 2001 . He replied with a brief note saying there was no animosity but continued to tell that same lie . Is it good decision making ability to choose a running mate that dropped out of the 1988 Presidential race because he got caught in his lies ? Then there is Biden's statement about being capable of showing where the Taliban and Bin Laden are . There is no way that individual should be allowed the remotest chance to be President .

Makes you wonder what the defecit would be now had Clinton not got it back under control(a balanced budget with a surplus, what an idiot he was). OK now go ahead and stae (as facts LOL) how bad Clinton was, blame our problems now on him.
Things were good during the Clinton years as far as economics.

But, you fail to see some key issues. During those years, the Republicans were in charge of congress. That balanced budget wouldnt have been a reality if it didnt come with support from the Republicans. Remember, congress has more power than the President. If congress in those years didnt know what they were doing...things wouldnt have been as they was and Clinton would not have been able to claim all the credit...

Next point, 9/11 changed this country and therefore changed the world. Unfortunately, economics was effected in the process. Yeah, mistakes have been made in various areas of our government since 9/11. But, mistakes were also made during the Clinton era. Lack of action taken on military and national security issues, technology being sold the the Chinese that shouldnt have been, all kinds of other personal drama generated by Bill Clinton that took his and congress's attention away from what should have been focused on, etc.

Im so tired of the junk coming from the media and the Democrats. There is way too much finger pointing. Dems want to live in the past and blame everything on the Republicans. Even though Congress has more power than the President. It has been about 22 months since the Dems took over congress. According to the Dept of Energy...gas prices have gone up by about $1.65 in that 22 months. In the first 6 yrs of Bush, they went up by only $0.71!! I guess that is why this Democratic congress has a worse approval rating that Bush does...

Quote from Bill Clinton: "Well, maybe everybody does that a little bit. I think the responsibility the Democrats have may rest more in resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac."

Something I found on Billy from 1999 from the NYT, of all places:
New York Times - Clinton Adminstration Pressured Fannie Mae - Topix

In one instance, we hear Clinton blaming the Dems. In another, we find Clinton pressuring Fannie to push these bad loans. Fact seems to be that Clinton and Dems in Congress (especially the Congressional Black Caucus, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Chuck Shumer, and Maxine Waters) were instrumental in the creation of what they now like to call 'preditory loans'. Looking at them now, I'd say they were high-risk loans that justified the extraordinary interest (or interest only tag) tied to them. What do you expect will happen when a bank's arm is twisted to loan money to someone who probably won't pay it back? I'm sorry... but the majority of poor ppl are poor for the same reason... they can't manage their money.

Just glad we dont have a Ross Perot in this election. Dad Bush would of beat Clinton in 92 if it wasnt for Perot.

I voted for Perot. If someone else had a real chance to change DC for the BETTER (not towards Socialism, like Obama will), I would vote for him too. You blame Perot for Bush losing. How about blaming Bush for being the status quo, and not the true conservative Reagan was?

I wanted Perot to win but that wasn't going to happen. The only possible outcome was the end result, wasted votes that could have been cast for evil and would have defeated EVIL.

Wasted votes, huh? No wonder nothing changes for the better. If everyone who wanted Perot to win voted for him, instead of voting for who they thought would in, Perot would've won! Instead, you voted for someone you didn't want, and got someone you didn't want even more. Now, who wasted their vote, Leo?

It's called "thinking outside the two party system". If voters can't do it, they deserve what they get.

There were not enough votes for Perot even if everyone who wanted him voted for him. There was only the possibility of him being a spoiler and that's how it turned out. If there were a viable 3rd choice that truly polled and had the chance to win I'd consider him/her. As long as it's just a feel good, make a statement exercise I'm going to do whatever I can to keep the worst choice of all out of office.

I don't consider voting for a third party a wasted vote although I haven't done it . The higher the percentage of votes a third party candidate gets the clearer the message to the other parties they made a poor selection for a candidate . Why are the Democrats trying to keep third party candidates off the ballot while Republicans`seem unconcerned ? Nader feels 'vindicated' about being on Pa. ballot - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
