Our thanks to a customer that cares!

In another thread I started, I stated that we would be working during the Forth of July holiday. Altough we wished to service a customer in need and we were the only truck in there area with space availible on our deck, the forth is our wedding anniversary. We were in hopes of celebrating it not under a load and restricted as to where we went.

A well laid plan to resolve this fell into our laps at the last minute. Or so we thought. Providing that we could get our Memphis drop off Friday night and be at our Hot Springs customer no later than 7:00am Saturday morning, we would be free for the holiday. Upon arriving at Memphis before midnight only to be told we have nobody here that can unload those large crates until 7:00am due to holiday scheduling. We watched our plan sink like the Titanic before our eyes. We were devistated with this news but could do nothing about it but wait.

But thanks to an understanding customer at Hot Springs that cared, and even delayed leaving for a family planned Forth of July trip for several hours, we are enjoying our anniversary and Forth of July at the newly opened RV park at Winstar Casino in Thackerville,OK. We were able to check into our site Saturday evening and begin enjoying a wonderful time. The photos below are of our site with the laundry room and showers directly across the drive from us and the pet exercise area directly behind us. Even our boston terrier Abby is feeling a bit patriotic in her lawn chair. When she's not being patriotic our sleeping, she is enjoying the many walks and games of frisbee, plus playing with the kids at the park. This is a great place to bring your expedite truck and give that genset a rest. No running of generators allowed here.

This customer did not have to do this for us, nor did we ask. Instead he insisted, even saying "if your wheels are'nt turning you are'nt making money" and "Monday you could be under your next load". He went on to say he wanted us to be able to enjoy our anniversary. If only all customers felt that way about drivers!

Thank you dear customer although I cannot name you!!!

We feel very fortunate and blessed that most all of our customers are great. I believe many of the others would go that extra mile if in the same situation. We really feel most care about their aviation drivers. I've not been made to feel this way from past customers in other types of freight we've hauled through the years.

All in all, over my 10 years I've found a lot of customers pretty accommodating...when something arises...I mean we are talking van here...from letting us stay on their lot to hooking us up to shore power, using their showers and lunch room facilities...Americans are pretty generous to help out I've found...which was shocking to a Canadian...;):D
