open forum or moderated?

Open forum I don’t think so it’s a moderated forum at best! And not the only forum on the net. Some day maybe only Panther readers left hope they pay you enough Lawrence for will probably be only advertiser left if no one else is allowed to voice there opinions or experiences? Like I said its going to keep popping up over and over if not by me some one else again and again I’ve read threw the archives and some of the people that used to post on many things and disagreed with Panther are long gone what’s up with that? They get banned am I going to get banned for asking?
Does Panther not just advertise here but own EO?

Hey Alvin. I don't think anyone is against you posting your view on here, whether it be of Panther, or anything else. All things do come to an end however, and it sounds as if you're very unhappy with Panther. I've worked in situations that just didn't seem to work for me. No matter what I said, I knew the situtaion was just past the point of changing. Several people have suggested that you leave Panther. I don't think that was just someone being a smarta$$. It's not always financially easy, especially when you feel that you're already in a bind under the present situation. But maybe it's just time to take the jump and move on.

Man you hit the nail on the head about the financial part and all the what if’s going around about different companies doing this or that had to do a lot of research like back when stating out wished I’d know about forums like this one 6 years ago. Don’t get me wrong knew about forums and have been on some but not for expedite don’t know why just didn’t think of it. Hope I didn’t have a misconception that truck drivers didn’t use the internet? God I’d hate to think I would of do that but I didn’t know since have seen other forums about expediting but haven’t read must of the posts I don’t want to spend all my free time reading posts online although last month there was enough time but I think if I’d been on one more forum I’d forgot I was sitting and not got back to work and still be in upstate NY LOL

any way I have gotten a lot out of this place since being here so hope my message isn't too abrupt?

Alvin, of course this is a moderated forum. It is meant to be a resource for those researching expediting as well as those actively involved to share resources and solutions. Without moderation it would be CB radio via internet. There is too much of that foolish drivel on the CB without adding to it here. It does a good job of what it's intended to do.

Your so right Leo looking at it that way its just that it seams some things are ok to about and others aren’t but like you said in the new locked post if its been covered why bring it up over and over and with out spending a lot of time reading old posts I being on here short time didn’t know, but seems same situation comes up over and over I been off my game lately or my idea of a open forum within Panther would of came to me before and maybe things would either get fixed or myself or who ever is unhappy might learn why it’s the way it is instead of the runaround from the lower level people we get to talk to at Panther. Who knows might work or might not but it I think was a good idea?

At the drivers appreciation Panther held a round table discussion with drivers. One of the things that was brought up is a drivers council. It is in the process of being hammered out now.....drivers council, not fleet owners. That may help address issues that some people seem to have.

Ok finally we are on the same page kinda but the thing about that is a good idea but would give some the idea of power or favored because of being on counsel the idea of having a voice that is heard and responded to would be best but guess that still could be there are forums online that can be setup by any one and monitored by say that counsel your talking about and they can then take it to Panther and I like the idea its not a Panther employee but a person in same shoes as every one else. See I’m not impossible or one sided and its funny though what stress does to a person. Even though I know better its like trying to fix a mechanical problem you get so frustrated and seem to make matters worse you take a break and walk away for a while and come back and some of the answers are staring you in the face. Sorry to say the changes will come too late to help me I’ll be gone either bankrupt or find a new place to hang signs on my home err truck.

Thanks for sharing that I didn’t know if they are elected people I vote for Gene Dunlap doubt I’d get much argument there!

Very effective and efficient.
They were minor issues but addressed very quickly. Waiting on the phone is a thing of the past with that system, unless it is a immediate question pertaining to a run you are currently on.

Cool! I almost used it on a pay issue last week but know the people in settlement department very well so called them direct its nice to catch up with them once in a while any way!

I think your post is right on. From what I read here panther is filled with favortism and retaliation. It appears Scott T. may be the true face of Panther and that is something they do not want out here. It is sad when a co. will go this low as to leave someone sit and possibly go bankrupt to force them in line.

This complaining seems redundant somehow, especially for VAN owners. I mean ya'll signed contracts for .77 per mile and fsc plus whatever add-ons. Now Panther prolly works the way my co. works, they look at the board and see a # and take a trip from a shipper and then TRY to dispatch it on the assumption you'll run it BECAUSE your available. Theres no nogotiating nada. Beside thier ad theres a .77 cents NO little star as there is with the bigger guys. Now they spent time looking for a trip for you and you turn it down? To the end of the line I say. When you signed for the 77 cents you gave up the right of refusal....don't want a trip...book-off.

It's my opinion that once someone's given the chance to vent, they should move on. I think everyone and their brother has vented on Panther for the last month straight, and it needs to stop. Constructive criticism is one thing, but what's going on here is useless to everyone.
